EK is one of the last ones I look at, I hate my journey being split in the middle.
It's simply a matter of choice, & often down to convenience, but it is the only way one can reach Aus "one stop" albeit Perth.
As for BA, then they lost me a few years ago, insofar as I'm concerned they have a legacy of unreliability & I have a long memory of the truely dreadful facilities in the previous T1. Now replaced by onerous transfer hassle from T5 if your onward flight takes in other carriers, not to mention the potential take off delays
all in all now not even in same ball park as CDG & AMS.
