Thanks for the replies guys, I'm new to this converting/verification FAA to CAA business so apologies for the lack of info in my original post.

I will require a 61.75 temporary airman's certificate, I have sent all the paper work to the CAA and FAA, now I believe the FAA has to contact the CAA for verification. Will the FAA notify me once they have verified the paper work?

What I don't understand exactly is, will my class 2 medical (once verified by the FAA)which expires in 2016 be sufficient for the FAA IR/CPLME? Will the 61.75 certificate on its own give me the privileges to fly as a PPL and train towards IR/CPL etc?

Do I need to obtain an FAA class 1 medical?
