UK PPL and FAA Class 1 medical

Hello everyone,

I'm currently a UK PPL(A) holder with a CAA class 1 medical that expired last year. I will be doing my FAA IR/CPLME training later this year, but I want to do the FAA Class 1 medical here in the UK.

My understanding is that:

I will have to fill in the SRG1160 forms and send it off to the CAA, and only then I can send off the AC Form 8060-71 (Verification of Authenticity of Foreign License, Rating, and Medical Certification) to the FAA branch in Oklahoma City. Once in the US, I have to collect the temporary airman's certificate from the local FSDO.

If i get my FAA Class 1 here in the UK, will that certificate be valid in the US without having to verify it or go through any other paper work?

Sorry if these questions have been answered before, If some one could confirm that the above is correct.

Many thanks!
