Korean Air "Yes" or "No"

If you do some research on previous KAL's posts you will find a lot of information from Pilots with first hand experience on their laughable pretend training charade.

I still keep in touch with some of the people above and can confirm that there is no training at all when you join them. You will be harassed and shouted about the most stupid things you can not even imagine.

They are having difficulty attracting experienced Pilots so they are taking mostly non-type rated people on the A330 and B777. It is fair to say that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel, but occasionally some experienced guys might show up just to find out that no matter how professional they are they will be treated with no respect.

It is a culture that motivates people with pressure and it works for them, unfortunately it map them as the country with the highest suicide rate in the world. You won't see many happy faces there.

The training process takes 4 to 5 months with no days off to go Home, as I said before there is no training, every session of whatever is run like a check with shouting and nitpicking. Then at the end there is a final flight check with a Ministry of Transport Inspector in the jumpseat and a checker in the right seat. This checker is so scared from the MOT guy that will not work with you but against you to show strength. Any minimal error and it will end in failure.

There have been MANY cases of experienced people that have been sent home after 4 months for really STUPID things or becase the Koreans did not like them.

It has to be one of the few airlines that has to continuosly hire people just to maintain their level of manpower because they loose as many people as they take in. A great LOSS of TALENT and MONEY. I am surprised nobody is watching the incredible WASTE OF MONEY.

And if you make it through...then you have to learn to live with the Copilot's secret reporting and uncheduled checks, PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE.

In my opinion is a "HUGE NO"

Sorry, but I can not believe how many GOOD PILOTS have been burned with this outfit and there are still people interested at giving it a go.

SAD, STUPID and INCREDIBLE
