1. You've re-installed several times before after a Format C: incident/Windows re-install.
2. You've installed on Desktop, laptop, laptop which replaced the first one, Desktop after a Mobo/HDD change etc
3. You've installed Office 2007 (or 2010) after 2003, but wanted to keep an 03 feature, no longer included in 07(10).

1. & 2. - You've overused your licence!
3. You've replaced a file with a newer version. You'll need to complete action 1 or 2, then install 03, then 07(10).
Mil Pprunners can buy Office 2010 from SABS - google it (if no luck at home, try it at work). You can get Office 2010 for <£20 (including Backup CD) - cheaper if download only. It includes a licence for installing on 2 PCs.
Downside - you must uninstall when you leave Mil.
