There is an argument that the politicians in the late 1940's and 50's were the first ones who got it wrong by allowing so much development close to Heathrow that expansion became practically impossible.
But nobody wants an airport near them, having problems with wanting the employment and economic benefits it brings without having the noise and traffic.....
I just wonder what would happen to the economic situation in the LHR area and West London in general if LHR were to close......
