Airline sources confirmed this week that the carrier was contemplating the move but said no decision had been made.

Parent company Virgin Australia Holdings is already registered in the NSW capital and five of the 11 top executives are based there. It is understood that the changing dynamics of the market, as Virgin pursues a higher percentage of premium customers, makes switching headquarters to the nation's biggest city more attractive because of increased access to key corporates.
