The future of the cross runway is unclear, but it is not yet withdrawn permanently. In fact, it will be in use overnight for 15 nights during March when the main is to be closed for works. That means a lot of the mail/freight flights will have to use it - so hoping for decent weather on those occasions!
The second runway gets used for this purpose almost every year. Surely it's worth keeping for this purpose along - without the runway they would need to close the airport for 2 weeks to complete maintenance work.
