Having been employed by Euroceltic since before the airline was awarded its AOC, now would be a good opportunity to post some facts rather than mere conjecture as the airline has ceased operating.

The AOC was withdrawn on Tuesday of last week as the CAA were unhappy at the airline`s continual use of wet leased aircraft. This coupled with the airline`s lack of management structure and with a none too flattering audit carried out back in October led the present management to terminate the airline`s operations. All of Newair`s aircraft have returned to Denmark whilst our own 2 aircraft - one is still in SXL awaiting salvaging and the other is in BLL - having undergone a C check it is AOG at present - so its future is undetermined.

Contrary to all sorts of rumours - the airline employed about 35 people - all of whom are no doubt actively looking for employment so good luck to them all.

The airline was looking to obtain an Irish AOC - they had sourced
a small company operating a PA-31 and the aim was to buy this airline with the view of operating Fokker 50s purchased from Aer Lingus on its AOC.This as we now know came to nothing.
There had been rumours of Euroceltic either merging with or buying outright Newair of Denmark - but they had greater debts than first realised.

So there you have it - as a reminder to `Potter` - there were those employed at LTN as well as WAT - don`t they deserve
some sort of recognition or at the very least some luck when it comes to job hunting?
