Things that struck me:
- Was wearing an immersion suit.
- Had a life raft but was not able to get into it.
- Decided not to stretch the glide, but to ditch in a place where rescue was more likely.
- ATC on the ball, oil rig support vessel + helo nearby, leading to a very short recovery time.
