Sometimes more than an information service!
As a PPL student on a solo nav I had reason to be grateful for their pro-active approach:
they called
me to warn me that the airfield I was heading to would most likely be closed when I got there.
They, (and a very busy FI behind the scenes), sorted me out.
I am still grateful.
