Useful Mnemonics
Hi guys,
I know a couple of mnemonics that are quite useful. I have listed them below. Please feel free to and do add your own.
There are two whose expansions I don't know. They are FIRA and HASSELL(sp). Any idea what their expansions are?
C-GUMPS ("see-gumps") - Controls, Gas/fuel, Undercarriage, Mixture, Propellor. Useful before takeoff, turning onto final and practicing maneuvers.
4Cs ("four sees") - Climb, clean, cool then communicate. Should be done after takeoff or a go around. Climb = positive rate. Clean = gear, flaps, etc. Cool = engine power reduction. Communicate = Establish contact w/ ATC.
5Ts ("five tees") - Time, twist, turn, throttle, talk. Time = start clock. Twist = HDG/CRS bug adjustment. Turn = obvious. Throttle = Speed adjustment. Talk = contact ATC if needed. Useful before entering a holding pattern and certain approach procedures.
