haselled, please email me, looks like we are in the same boat, maybe we can consolidate our resources and work something out

1900 , jet ratings.... with the usa having closed its borders shutting out foreign crew wanting to do training there, where in the world can we look for training along the lines offered by Flightsafety ?
In the UK, Australia, New Zealand? certainly not in South Africa or the US anymore
What would the benefit be of paying for your own B737 or other jet rating anyway, seems like a lot of money for no certain chance of employement at all?
A rep from Flightsafety informed me that in order for you to be eligible to do a type rating on an aircraft >5700kg, in the US, you first need to be rated on one already, so that totally defeats the purpose of going in the first place. Not to mention the endless formalities yo need to go to in order to even apply to go to the US for training.

Scuttlebut has it that no one individual has been able to travel to the US and complete any self-sponsored training since 9/11.

What is this doing to the US companies that prvided training to foreign crews, they certainly cant be very happy with loosing so much revenue all of a sudden?
