Hi all,
Generally the same rules apply to my airline...
*No children
*No disabled/infirm/elderly
*No obese pax....etc
Also pax must speak and understand English.
This can be quite difficult on a full flight, especially to/from places such as Japan, Korea, China where the load can be up to 100% tour groups from those countries and you have no idea who does speak english. This is where some assistance from check in staff would be appreciated as they have more direct contact initially and are obviously talking to the pax and allocating seats. I am amazed at times when there are english speaking pax on board and they have not been seated at the emergency exit.
We also have to brief the pax and confirm with them if they are willing to follow our instructions in an emergency.
There is usually a bit of juggling to be done pre take off but those who do have to be moved to an exit row are usually very happy to do so due to the extra leg room.
Also,
*No baggage under seats during take off and landing.
I haven't heard of the shoes rule but I do agree with it.
