Ryanair intentions with KUN base
Jamie 2 k or others more familiar with the RYR planning, do you have info on what is ryanair doing with its KUN base in Lithuania? Director General of Kaunas airport that brought Ryanair to LT resigned last week and rumours are going on that on this is somehow related to the pressure from the Ministry of Transport of Lithuania on Kaunas to limit its further development (currently, Vilnius is only the third largest airport in the baltics but they could become the second if they make RYR to have most of its operations in Vilnius instead of Kaunas). Some sources thus say that there would only be one plane left in the base and many routes axed (and indeed, only 4 or 5 routes from KUN are on sale for the winter season). Difficult to understand, since at the same time they are currently constructing MRO facility there. thanks for anyone bringing some clarity on the RYR intentions in LT!
