Of course no one went to the Canaries before Ryanair started flying there. If the demand is there other airlines will fill it, but it is hard to see where else Ryanair could fly in the winter. It will have to leave even more of its planes on the ground.
Funny that but data suggests that FR have had a huge effect on Canary Island airports
In 2008 TFS had 8.3 million passenger
In 2009 7.1
In 2010 7.4
In 2011 8.6
Lanzaraote in same time went from
2008 5.4M,
2009 4.7M,
2010 4.9M back to
2011 5.5 Million.
If demand was such from elsewhere then why are others not doing the routes ?
