I share your disappointment ABZFlyer and was really
pissed off with this 'landmark' announcement. I really thought we were gong to be getting an a/c based or whatever.
Off the top of my head I could easily see the likes of Easyjet/Jet2 being able to operate 2/3 weekly ops to:
MALAGA!!!
Alicante
Faro
Barcelona
Corfu or Greek islands.
Tenerife
Dalaman
Innsbruck
Geneva
Maybe we are just seen as too far out of the way by airlines and they're happy to fill their coffers at EDI/GLA.
The airport is just as bad frankly - don't get me wrong they do a fairly good job - but when they pretend that 2 extra frequencies to already served destinations is fantastic, wonderful and all the other superlatives they may use then that is just half arsed
Anyway LH have downguaged to a CR7 for winter and LHR will be 9x daily on Tue and Fri in W12.
