Older Gulfstream G-II/G-IIB/G-III jets were certified in the US to FAR 36 Stage 2 regs and to ICAO Annex 16, Chapter 2. At the time, FAR 36 had reached an amendment level (36-8) which allowed noise testing at V2+10
OR the all engines operating (AEO) airspeed at 35 feet.* Conspicuously, the AFM's approved Noise Standards pages for FAR 36 call for testing at 164 KIAS, while the ICAO pages call for V2+10. Using the G-III as example, V2+10 = 164 KIAS. The question is, when Gulfstream states "164 KIAS" under FAR 36, does that mean the AEO airspeed, or???
* Later changed to V2+10 to V2+20.
