This was always going to happen. If people mistakenly believe that paying for hours on type will lead to uptopia, then being paid this measly sum will be seen by some as acceptable. I am sure they will be over-subscribed by people with 501hrs on the Airbus.

I read recently that people in the Far East are turning away from the career. Unsociable hours, endless 4-6 sector days, minimum rest, and so on will lead those with decent ambition and intelligence to look for something else to do with their future.

I did recently meet a F/O from a major low cost carrier in the UK who genuinely admitted that they are considering leaving to take up a graduate trainee position in another industry; a career changer after 18 months! I suspect they are not alone.
