For your info, I joined EK about 6 months ago, had a CAPT jet job (>40T) back in Europe untill I joined EK....and no, I don't regret it, very happy so far!
By the way, time to command in the last couple of years was never more than 3 years for guys with the minimum 6000hrs! Accelerated command is 2 years for guys with the suffucient command time on jets ( believe > 20T).
Which company is giving a wide-body command within 2 or 3 years???
There will defenitively be some accelerated commands in 2003.
I think, as said so many times before, that giving up a captain job, is purely up to the individual. I personally never had problems with it. The captains so far were 99% great...
