Yes, based on your point of view, a 12,000-hour pilot deserves an opportunity before a 4,000-hour driver. 8,000 hours mean, at least, 10 more years in aviation, and during those long years a pilot can learn an important thing that you haven’t learnt yet: modesty.
All must have a chance but there’s no experience comparison between those guys, even for a 146-day VFR captain (well there are several days during a year for an IFR approach) and a RH automated airplane pilot. Give me a break.
