Thanks for that RR. Boeing still get credit for having thought up the idea. I guess that they wanted to coin the name, rather than have it named for them. Also, having got the wonderful name 'jumbo' that has now become the 'hoover' word and is lost for their promotional activities.
As I recall, when Singapore started with the 747-300 and the 'SUD' as it was called, they attempted the name 'Megatop' but that never took off (poor pun intended).
