A colleague of mine tells me that the SIA pilots have just agreed upon yet another pay rise.
If he is to be believed, their hourly allowances will now be approx S$ 61 for first 70 hrs and then S$ 85 till 80 hrs. Beyond that all will be S$ 245 per hour. Add that to their average layover allowances of S$ 300 per day, and these 777 captains become the highest paid pilots in he world....!!
Even AFTER their 10% taxes.
And of course if u are an expat, then you get some additional house rental and kids schooling allowance thrown in. I reckon a good 20k usd take home pay per month after taxes.
A good months work etiquette eh..
