If people start moving through the industry it would mean that guys with low hrs can get their first commercial jobs, which we would all like to see! Most UK jet operators are not taking on direct low hour modular pilots anymore, which is a real shame. However if the progression I spoke about from turbo/light to jet started again it would start to clear up the pool of low hour mod guys which sadly being missed, as they would be taken into the turbo/light cat. The massive spanner in the works are the integrated schools which offer low hour direct jet jobs and the airlines see this as an easy option as it doesn't appear to cost the airline much. This is bypassing everyone and is halting the career progression which would benefit all.
