Don, for the last time what has open dirt fields and lack of gas cans have to do with whether the tanks were empty? I won't ask this again if you don't answer and will have to assume you have no idea.

As to open fields I notice the comment "densely populated residential area" in
Luck & pilot skill avert terrace tragedy
but no video. Your assertion of acres of open space is at odds with "densely populated".

Nothing in
Chopper makes emergency landing on top of apartment in Bangalore

The video in
HAL chopper lands on building rooftop in emergency | Alpha
shows only the rooftop and no land. The commentary mentions that landing on the ground was not possible because of wires.

Helicopter trainee lands on apartment rooftop in India - Emirates 24/7
has no video.

BBC News - Indian helicopter moved from Bangalore roof
has no video.

How Bangalore chopper was brought down from the roof of building
shows some open space at around 4:40 but with wires. Not possible to know if that area could be reached in an auto rotation glide-slope while avoiding buildings.


The Hindu : Cities / Bangalore : Skilful pilots land copter on terrace
has no video.
