The point I wanted to make was that your hypothetical calculation is useless for anyone considering the contract. It's not a commuting contract, and if you know anyone in AAI, you will know that even private commuting at your own expense is not an option with the roster. 30 days on base are paid at 30 days; 20 on/10 off is irrelevant unless you want to compare it with legacies. And if you had the option of a legacy, you wouldn't be considering AAI.
The contract is bad, and from what I'm told 3 months in Jeddah without going home is somewhat more than character building. An experienced captain would have to be desperate to consider it, but the basic pay isn't as appalling as you make out.
