NEWSFLASH: All flightdeck generally bitch about their employer, even the two guys who always fly together in PAN AM who look like they have a pretty good deal - I wish I could see a 60's US pilots T&C's updated to reflect inflation, I reckon there would be no need for viagra (disclaimer: I am very virile, the viagra reference was for comic effect ..... OK?).
Jet2 will eclipse TCX this summer in terms of hulls and certainly outlook. Granted they don't have other group airlines servicing additional markets (and in some cases subsidising them). However with that in mind and fewer and fewer qualified TR'd pilots itching to get a job, T&C throughout the whole industry will pick up.
Its maybe testament to the way the company has been run that things in Jet2 are looking so perky, but its also a reason some will use to move on elsewhere. They really are getting to the stage that they claim they are young cheeky upstart any more, they are now an established and significant UK airline.
Consequently they have to start acting like one and a start has been made with union recognition and pay increases this year. Things will improve further but that will be determined by CAPITALIST ECONOMY NEWSFLASH #2: supply and demand - of available aircrew and a healthy supply of passengers wanting to go on city breaks, holidays or business trips.
As for the post holder changes mentioned, the implication, correct me if I'm wrong, is these roles either have an undue level political interference or are simply a stressful poison chalice. However no mention of personal circumstances or other mitigating factors of the post holders and their tenure. While it may serve an agenda to band eyebrow raising figures about it serves no other purpose to emphasise any anger or bitterness held at a previous stage in the development of the company.
NEWSFLASH #3: All airlines are like Marmite to their employees, do I need to add the tagline? Alternative employment will always be pursued for a multitude of reasons whither it be salary, desire to fly bigger planes further, longhaul layovers, geography, company ethos, outlook, command time, the list is endless.
If you move on elsewhere and you're happy, is there any need to look over the fence citing issues from x years ago while singing "nah nah nana nahhh"?
