A lot of the FI traffic may be aimed at those connecting on to North America through KEF. Having said that, i visited Iceland last year and it seems to be becoming a very popular spot as it has gotten cheaper in recent years, allowing itself to be a more affordable destination (still very expensive). The recent volcanic eruptions have done nothing but promote Iceland to the world and it seems people are now wanting to go and visit the country responsible for closing down European airpsace...by flying there.
