Smile long hard road

gliding aged 16, ppl aged 21 @ Blackpool, glider tuggy = 500 hours - great fun but no money, all ground school at PPSC distance learning (nightmare) while working, BCPL 1 at Ravenair (dont bother), BCPL 2 @ Leavesden - superb, IR1 @ 2 at AFT Exeter (nightmare again), ATPL exams at Prestwick, Perf C,E @PPSC, Alex Whittingham for perf A - excellent, AFI @ Tayside - VG, FI at Leeds with Stuart Anderson - great, now have a UK ATPL/IR @ 5000 hours and am still a CPL instructor. Total cost? stopped counting 4 years ago when it went past £34000! At least I am at last in the black and can spend money on things like other people do now like holidays, clothes etc! hope to fly a big aeroplane soon.
