None of us implied flying economically (or efficiently) is unsafe. In fact, most major carriers would have good fuel policies to ensure that.

Most of us may have sensible judgement in taking extra fuel when needed. Fuel savings bonus wasn't invented by Chinese carriers, you should speak to many who had done it in many of legacy carriers, decades ago. Thence you would understand how the inherent pressure of aiming for fuel saving bonus could cloud your judgement in uplifting a safe amount of reserve fuel. I can't name the airlines, but couple of near mishaps caused at least one of them to abolish this practice. And most follow suit in adopting a moderate attitude towards fuel uplift.

I'm sure you must be one of the better ones to exercise sound decision, but you do have to admit that you can't expect the same from ALL pilots in your airlines can you?
