Many times this pilot representative has something to gain by attending as a "representative" and will tell the applicants what they want to hear.
The agency (WASINC) will select this pilot rep. based on his willingness to help sell for his own reasons.
These reasons could vary, it may be a direct commission for signing up successful applicants. The rep may get some schedule benefits and possibly a free vacation home for his services or the rep. may be trying to get the recommendation of the agency to become a foreign instructor for the particular airline. The point of my post is to reinforce the comment above about doing your homework before choosing an airline in China. You will be speaking to used car salesmen at this job fair.
