our CAA agreed with that. I think I had 10+10 hrs on sim (10 from left and another 10 from right seat) and then 2 hrs training on real one for VFR rating (I didnt have IR that time) with aprox 1 hr exam. And after few months when I get my IR I just made 1 hr IR exam on type.
I am not sure if you can pass these hours on real piece under FAA (suppose not).
