Will changing to EASA kill my IMCR?
I've got an old UK (pre JAR) PPL(A) with a current IMC rating valid until late 2013.
If I convert to an EASA license this year, after the CAA start issuing them in July, I assume that it will not have an IMC rating attached because there is no EASA equivalent (yet!).
Does that mean that if I fly an EASA aeroplane once I have my new EASA licence that I can no longer exercise the privileges of my IMCR on such aircraft?
I assume that the CAA will allow me to retain my UK PPL with its IMCR for flying non-EASA aircraft - but that once they have issued my EASA licence that my UK PPL will no longer be valid for use on EASA aircraft.
Should I delay getting an EASA licence until the last possible moment (April '14 I think)?
