Fstig, remember that in several countries tax is not an issue , so a 10 to 15K monthly income turns out fine. Also you have to factor in a bonus culture in Asia, provident funds and 6 weeks on \ 2 off type rosters. With the impending demise of a significant part of the Euro zone and it's social security\pension networks , do you honestly think that an intelligent person will leave a job where he is able to actually save something for rainy days ahead and move to a bankrupt country working for a company that clearly discriminates pilots that accept to work there? Every cent you pay in taxes nowadays in these southern european countries is the equivalent of torching your own hard earned money, you will not be getting anything in return , no benefits , no pension , nothing. All of it is used to pay the enormous debts that were created god knows how.
Whoever accepts this job should undergo a serious Psych evaluation, I mean it.
