Time to command is completely irrelevant at Cathay Pathetic.

Do you think that when your number comes up they just say, "OK! Now it's YOUR turn?"

Pre-Command Assessment, Command Skills "Training" simulator sessions, assessment by the "Star Chamber," Command Assessment Line Check, Command "course..."

Oh, and then there's the possibility (which has happened to more than a few) of being demoted once you are a captain (even after you have finished your probation!)

No one should ever think in terms of "time to command" when considering being an employee of Cathay Pacific. One should plan to remain a First Officer and becoming a captain is an unexpected and unplanned bonus.
