The only reason the A/P trims nose up is to allow it to be 'fail passive' in the event of an autopilot disconnect in the flare - ie. the stick returns to neutral. The ensuing touchdown isn't pretty, but it isn't dangerous either, but without the trim, it might just be that. Of course, normal flight crew will assume control and land correctly or G/A as required.
Just because a system does it that way, does not mean that a human should...Follow the FCTM.
