After spending my entire working life in the aviation industry including time as a trainer and checker in an airline. Don’t get sucked into this aviation degree courses !!!!!! If you won’t a uni degree then do a traditional course at a long established uni and learn to fly part time.

If you won’t to become an airline pilot go to as many flying schools as you can and see what they have to offer.
Some questions I would suggest you ask them:

1. Which instructor will be training me?
2. What experience does he have in training commercial pilots?
3. How long has he been instructing?
4. Do I have to pay for the course in advance or can I pay as I go?
5. How long has this company been training pilots for?
6. Can you give me some names of pilots you have trained or worked for you that are in airlines that I can contact to ask about your training standards?
7. Will you give me a job at the end of my training? (If they say yes don’t believe them)
8. Ask the instructors your learning to fly with were they did their training?
9. Ask to instructors you intend to fly with what sort of boss they work for?

Just a couple of golden rules:

1.The best training is not always the most expensive or cheapest

2.Never pay in advance. Always pay as you go (for example, you do an hours flying you pay for the hours flying) It is really hard to get money back out of a business once you pay them, especially an aviation business.

Good Luck
