Mr Wobbles, with MXI you don't need that extra person sitting in the office shuffling papers. The paperwork package needed someone to go through it and make sure it was all good.
MXI is different and everything is displayed on one screen. My issue about them getting trained is, why train a 55+ yo person who will never turn a spanner on the aircraft and who is only going to be an admin LAME and then retire/take redundancy in 5 years or less.

If they are going to train people, make an investment in younger staff who are going to be there for a few years and the company will gets its return on capital(as the irishman likes to say).

If they want to restructure by all means do so, but do it to make things better, don't do it and give all their mates a course and a payrise and be no more productive.

They talked about fleet streaming with 2 distinct areas, Boeing 744 767 738 and Airbus 330/380. This would keep most people happy. Those who are staunch airbus haters can work on there beloved 744s and those who like plastics work in airbus.

There would surely be enough aircraft in both the fleets to make it happen and to make it work.
