320 cockpit preperation. How do the flows work?

Just been reading up to get info before I start my course, and wondering how exactly the checks are done.
I have a sample of the preliminary cockpit checklist that starts with:
CM1/CM2 duties at first.
Do they do this simultaneously(each doing his own)?

Then comes the "Preliminary Cockpit Preparation" where the PNF has a whole list of things to do (starting from engine masters, engine mode selectors etc),

Then comes the cockpit preperation where the PF has his checks starting with the overhead panel, the RCDR, etc.

Are these PNF preliminary cockpit prep and PF cockpit prep done simultaneously?
