You have been wrong informed!
In short: The dutch ALPA (VNV) negotioted for a long time to get a good deal which was fair for both Martinair and KLM pilots. Both pilotgroups agreed (through the "ledenraad") and concluded that this is a fair deal. Almost everebody is happy now, however there will be always a few people who think they should have gotten a better deal.
