Whether you agree or disagree with climate change. Even if we are causing it, why are we going ahead with the carbon tax when Australia CAN NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE to the big picture. A friend works at Boyne Smelter near Gladstone and alerted me to Riotinto's announcement earlier this week. They're selling a lot of their Aluminium assets, and while they have 'said' that the carbon tax did not contribute to their decision, I'm not so sure.
