You probably will find that a lot of the 'new' technologies Boeing are marketing with the 787 are not a new concept.
Im sure if you googled many of the design features you will see them on older now out of service aircraft.
Some are a bit before my time but I do remember learning the basic systems in my LWTR studies. I am sure there are plenty of members who can help by posting examples and applications??
