The Central Operations of the RFDS used the Qantas Foundation’s in-kind donation as part of its fundraising efforts at the “Wings for Life Ball” in Adelaide and the “Wilpena Under the Stars” black tie evening in the Flinders Ranges National Park, raising over $60,000.

The rain fled as more than 650 people danced the night away at the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) annual Wilpena Under the Stars on Saturday 19 February.

Guests flew in from all over Australia to be a part of one of South Australia’s most celebrated charity functions, now in its 16th year.

Ross Wilson & The Peaceniks performed all of Wilson’s greatest hits from Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock and guests enjoyed a delicious three course dinner with beer from Coopers and wines from Jacob’s Creek.

The major sponsors were Alinta Energy and Healthgate.

Proceeds from the event go the RFDS capital-raising program for the replacement of aircraft and purchasing medical equipment.
