Hi All,
I've just been awarded my PPL flying at Donair, East Midlands Airport. I found it hugely enjoyable and you can miss waiting for the commercial traffic by checking out the arrivals on the net or teletext before booking lessons
I never had to wait what I would call a long time to land or takeoff, I had to do 4 orbits one afternoon for landing traffic, but in the scheme of things thats not bad. Also I feel totally comfortable flying to any 'large' airport because i'm not phased by large aircraft or full ATC.
As the other guys have said, just take you're time and find somewhere that suits you.
