If all goes to plan, after 3rd October the new extension (120m) will be available for use, along with the extended Whiskey/Mike taxiway.
Work will still continue on, as you say, landscaping and other "tidying up", including removal of old appraoach lights, etc.
The date above is still heavily dependent on weather conditions over the weekend due to necessary flight checks prior to opening.

PS - Just a personal gripe - no "tarmac" has been used (and hasn't for 20-30years)
