Has anybody used the flight simulator in Hong Kong's Megabox? Is it any good?
I see they have a 5-7 month course for $40k HKD which is specifically designed to help applicants prepare for the CX/KA cadet interviews. It seems to contain a combination of theoretical groundwork and flight time on the simulator, and the instructors are all (ex?) Cathay or Dragonair pilots who have come through the respective cadet schemes themselves. Anybody done this?
It is quite a bit of money if you don't even know if you will be given an interview! Obviously if it makes
the difference it is well worth it, but I'd feel a bit dumb if I saved up $40k, did this course, and then couldn't even get an interview for a cadet scheme! Presumably spending the money shows your commitment to becoming a pilot, however I'd be concerned that they would have higher expectations from an interviewee who has had the direct help of pilots and ex-cadets and would be wary of a 'raising of the bar'.
Anybody with any experience using the company or thoughts on the course I mentioned?
