Caramelgirl - you should not confuse people if you are not sure about your information.
unsuccessful after FI = you must wait one year
unsuccessful during the AD or OD submission = you must wait 6 months
and EK is really strict about it.
Tinakung - You really have to wait ONE YEAR if you are unsuccessful in your FI. They can track candidates from their system by full name, nationality, date of birth and passport number and let's say you go to an open day before you complete your year and make it to the FI once they are back to Dubai , they will find out definitely and will reject you straight away!
About not wanting asians is not true and any way you are holding canadian passport and they don't count you as an asian so don't worry!
For now they are in big need of mandarin speaker which means they need asians.
PS: EK and EY are not filipinos for now.
Regarding your application with etihad: if you did not get any respond yet after applying means you have a big chance to be invited to an AD. be patient and wait.
