Made the PA at the holding point? During the Sterile Cockpit period? Idiots.
There are a couple of reasons why the PA may not have been made on some flights.
1. Pilots needed to have the 'script' in the form of a card which was mailed to their postal address. I received mine last Wednesday and duly made the PA's on both of my next sectors over the weekend, and
2. With or without the 'script' they will never be making the PA (figure out for yourselves why that would be the case!)
If a Captain did not want me to make the PA I would abide by his/her wishes (after all it is their jet!). The 'social' ramifications up track would clearly then be obvious for me.
