Ryanair in Catalonia Girona/ Reus/ aka "unreal-Barcelona"
Lunchtime tv mentioned that winter routes from Girona will fall by roughly half.
Reus even more presumably where they will up-sticks as a base (sic) shortly.
The local politicians have finally got sick of the Ryanair blackmail tactics. Speaking from memory, the tv claimed that Ryanair want 15m euro to guarantee 3m passengers (at Girona I think) whereas previously they had settled for 5m euro to cart 4m passengers.
Ryanair are claiming they will walk away though given the amount of subsidy (yes I know we have to EU-pretend it is not really a subsidy) involved and the cost of aircraft kerosene currently they themselves are in something of a hole and susceptible to be on the receiving end of their own medicine for once.
MOLīs side-kick (you know, "the charmless one") was in the principality whining about people who donīt keep their word so obviously they still think there is euro-millions-dosh non-subsidy to be had locally !
