have passed all assessment with EK, and i will be ( or not ) joining in a month.
As I am 28 already, and have build up my career in EU carrier as a Senior flight purser, I am concerned to go or not to. I have read a lot of topics, but just simple answers would make my decision, so I need Your help here. I will be posting question by numbers, so it will be easier for You guys to answer.
1. Cons and Pros about main fleet VS a380 ? ( I have traveled a world, so more interested to save some money, than to have exotic layover
)
2. I have read that it is very hard and demanding work on a 380 ( ps I have been given training on A380). The people are very demanding, and the seniors/ pursers are very strict. Can you just describe your experience? Can You describe service sequence lets say for Toronto flight ( who is going to sleep, and who is working etc/ how many cabin crew there are in economy class?)
3. My girlfriend got her golden call as well, I heard that you are paired with the same gender in flats, but the different sex ek cabin crew can stay overnight, and no one is checking it, so it means my girlfriend could spend a days/nights with me or I at her on our days off ?
4. Loundry is paid by ek, is it for all uniform ? I mean do I still have to iron my shirt, or it comes ironed and dry cleaned with all uniform ? ( ps how do they delivere it ? / what about outstations/ any cleaning in hotels on ek expenses ? )
5. How it is living in ek, I mean the newbies are getting housing somewhere in the desert, its fair enough, but is there a gym a pool in every of these buildings/ is it tottaly free with the face card ? ( as this information has been told on recruitment day..)
6 Marriage, I have heard there is housing allowance for married crew (43 000 dhr) however I wonder, If both are cabin crew ( male and female) will they ger each 43k or it is per couple ?
7 How much do you spend in DXB on average ? Im not talking of eating in five star restaurants, just going out once a week for pizza or etc?
8 is the SEP difficult to pass, or what is the killer in the courses?
